Call for Contributions - Global Africa (Issue 14) "Living with the River" Photo Essay
On behalf of the Global Africa editorial team, we invite researchers working on Africa-Asia-Latin America to contribute a photo essay that looks at contemporary or historical issues pertaining to "Living with the River" for its upcoming 14th Special Issue.
Themes
Special Issue #14 of Global Africa encourages artistic engagement whilst connecting Africa with Asia and Latin America on Historical links, present-day agency, and imagined futures.
The theme Living with the River aims to explore the ecological crisis in African, Asian and Latin American contexts from multiple perspectives in the humanities, social and natural sciences.
The overarching questions are:
- What is the extent of the ecological crisis, and in what ways does it manifest itself, and who is it affecting?
- How can we recover a coexistence with our rivers, with water, and with our ecosystems?
How to Submit
Interested authors need to submit a proposal which includes:
- A text of 800 words
- Minimum of 20 photographs with a resolution of Full HD at 300 dpi. Artistic renderings are welcome, provided they meet the same technical quality standards.
- Captions and credits for each image/illustration.
